Zen things, gratitude, resistance, forgive, heart-warming story, and Abraham

 TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 – It was Thanksgiving here in the US just a few days ago, but of course we should give thanks and be grateful EVERY day for a wide variety of reasons, not the least of which is it promotes health and well-being. Read about how having an attitude of gratitude can literally change your DNA….

... whether it looks like a blessing or not, give thanks. Gratitude workshttp://selfhelphealth.wordpress.com/2014/11/28/gratitude-and-the-dna-connection/

# 2 – Insight and stimulation from Guy Finley…..

Resisting the States of Others

Key Lesson: The only way to be free of whatever it is that troubles you about someone else is to be free of that trouble within yourself.

Question: You teach that what troubles us about other people is that we have within us that quality we dislike in them, and that being around them stirs that quality in us. So, if this disturbance is around a person who abuses children, are you saying my resistance to that person is because I am like him or her, and that somewhere in me is the potential to be a child molester? Please help me understand this idea!

Answer: The wholeness of whatever is true must be seen; it cannot be comprehended by thought any more than it’s possible to experience the depth, breadth, and majesty of the Grand Canyon in words alone. What troubles us about any person, regardless of his or her psychological make-up, is what that person stirs in us… this can be because a similar quality dwells in the darkness of our own (as yet awakened) character, or the disturbance we feel in their presence can be caused by a negative state in us, born of some instant unconscious judgment of that character in the offending individual. And it’s worth noting that all judgment of others is due to resisting what that person makes us conscious of in ourselves. So, either way, the point is that whatever we feel in ourselves is always some aspect of our own nature, else we couldn’t feel it… and that to blame another for the negative states generated by our system is like hating a neighboring factory for the noise being generated in our own. It’s also worth mentioning that whatever the expressed deviant behavior observed may be, it’s usually the effect of some deeper unseen psychological/spiritual issue, and that many times what we feel and “fight” with (or blame) in someone else is different than what drives the exterior manifestation. For instance, all “bullies” are driven by fear, as is any act of arrogance.

# 5 – The real meaning of success?

The achievement of anything that you desire must be considered success, whether it is a trophy or money or relationships or things. But if you will let your standard of success be your achievement of joy—everything else will fall easily into place. For in the finding of joy, you are finding vibrational alignment with the resources of the Universe.—Abraham
